DELSI SOMAES
Walvis Bay-born Delsie Somaes is 22 years old and is currently pursuing an honours degree in accounting at the University of Namibia. “What makes my hometown unique is the fact that it is Namibia’s biggest harbour and also serves as a gateway for importing and exporting of goods to neighboring countries.” Somaes entered the pageant because she wants to give back to her community as that gives her a sense of fulfillment...

KAREN BEUKES
Born and raised in Windhoek, 23-year-old Karen Beukes is an admin manager and a huge animal lover. She loves Windhoek because she says “we have the best biltong, the people are friendly and always willing to help one another”.
She entered the pageant to work with children, especially those in orphanages, and to gain more self confidence and self esteem.

ZANDRiA SWART
A self-proclaimed “barefoot Kalahari child”, Zandria Swart is 22 years old and is employed as an assisant wealth manager. All the way from Aranos, she comes from a small community of people with big hearts. “We are a big family and support each other,” she added. “I entered Miss Namibia to be part of this awesome process, the photo-shoots, the dressing up and most importantly to launch a project called Beauty Box, where I wish to gather boxes which have necessary things in them for girls, for them to feel beautiful and just be a girl.”

LEONE VAAN JAARSELD
Young human resources manager Leone van Jaarsveld hails from Swakopmund. “What makes my hometown unique is its beautiful landscape where the desert meets the ocean as well as the small German historic memorials and various cultures.” The 21-year-old said she entered Miss Namibia to grow as a young lady and to make a difference in her country. “I want child abuse to be brought to the attention of our communities, to ensure that steps are taken to help these children. As I have been involved with children’s homes and this matter being very close to my heart, I know this will take a large scale of hard work and dedication. But as a young successful woman, I am not afraid to work for what I set out to accomplish.”

TESSIA MUTWAMEZI
Twenty-three-year-old student Tessia Mutwamezi hails from Rundu and is currently pursuing her tertiary education at the Namibian University of Science and Technology. “The reason I joined Miss Namibia is because as the reigning Miss Heritage Namibia, I started a project called Save a Girl Child, as I strongly believe that it’s better educating and empowering a young child from an early age.”

ELIZABETH IPINGE
Twenty-four-year-old Elizabeth Ipinge hails from Windhoek and holds an honours degree in Fashion Studies, Geography and Environmental Studies.
“What makes my hometown unique is the vast amount of opportunities it presents,” she said. Ipinge entered Miss Namibia because she believes to invest in the mind of a child is to invest in the future. “This means that if I were to win, I would use the platform to further broaden the mentoring, advising and career guidance I do with young children, mostly girls.”

MARTHA KAMATI
Currently doing an honours degree in Information Technology at the International University of Management, Martha Kamati is part of the student representative coucil and holds the portfolio of gender and social welfare. “I have worked hard and dedicated my time towards social concern issues such as charity work, cleaning campaigns and fighting against gender-based violence through an initiative such as International Peace Youth Group (IPYG),” she said.
Hailing from Ohangwena, Kamati said the region is her heart. “It has unique unspoiled nature such as tall trees, good farming and grazing land.” The 23-year-old entered Miss Namibia “to show Namibia and the world that pageants are not only about showcasing the outer beauty of a woman but intelligence, confidence and ability to be the voice of the voiceless as well”.

LIANDRE CLAASEN
Receptionist Liandre Claasen is 23 years old. Family is very important to her and she entered Miss Namibia in order to “share my history and where I am coming from – a very undeveloped village, where we had very few privileges”.
“I would like to show the youth of Namibia that you can make something of your life no matter where you come from. The only thing stopping you from becoming something is yourself.”

ROMILLY MOUTON
Financial mathematics student Romilly Mouton is 23 years old and originally from Swakopmund. “My hometown is so unique because of the amazing beach. It provides such a peaceful atmosphere that I completely enjoy. I love that it’s a small town. People are close to each other and have good relationships with one another,” she said. She added that she entered the pageant to help young girls establish identity within themselves. “I want them to feel loved, and to love themselves. In my journey to enterting Miss Namibia, I know what it’s like to hate your body. I don’t ever want any girl to feel like that. I want to teach them to love themselves regardless of any other factor. I want to be a Miss Namibia who portrays joy, love and authenticity.”

SUNÉ JANUARY
Bachelor of Computer Applications graduate Suné January hails from Rehoboth and is 23 years old. “Rehoboth is known to have beautiful girls,” the stunner said about her hometown. “We are also famous for our beautiful Oanob dam. It’s not only a huge tourist attraction but also supplies our town with water.” January, who has dreamt of entering the pageant since she was a little girl, said she looks up to past winners. “It is a wonderful platform to bring about change in our country!

SUNET VAN SCHALKWYK
Sunset van Schalwyk is 24 years old and describes herself as a true country girl. “I am from a small town called Leonardville and the reason why it’s so unique is because it’s a very small and a close community and the whole town started with a church that was built.” The beauty said she entered Miss Namibia in order to “inspire young women to always believe in themselves and to never give up on achieving their dreams”

SABINA SAMUEL
Sabina Samuel is 23 years old and from the Omusati region. She is a recent marketing graduate. On her hometown Okalongo, Samuel said it is a beautiful town “and allows you to interact with people of different cultures. We have a brotherhood and sisterhood of all humanity and together we are one”.
Samuel entered Miss Namibia “to have a sense of achievement and fulfillment, and to develop and boost my self-esteem”. “It is a great privilege and honour to be one of the finalists since we will be involved in charity projects and use this platform to address issues affecting our youth, such as unemployment, gender-based violence, teenage pregnancy and many more.”
