The most entertaining part of the Miss Universe State final last night was not the sexy swimwear or svelte gowns but the Q & A session.

The 21 semi-finalists drew oohs, aahs, wolf whistles and some heckling in the packed Burswood Park venue but most of all the audience lapped up responses to questions from hosts Sam Mac and former Miss Universe Australia Rachael Finch. Answers ranged from amusing to absurd to outright crass.

Casey-Leigh Magatelli, one of the eventual finalists, said if she could change one event, it would be the 1930s Depression because many people lost their houses.

Asher Crawford said the one female leader she would interview dead or alive was Hillary Clinton, who had overcome the humiliation brought on her by her husband's wandering eye.

Renae Wauhop said the most inspiring figure in her life was Whitney Houston.

The other four to make the final seven were Lia Tapper, Alana Wilkie, Megan Meares and Stephanie Whife. They will be flown to Sydney for the national final in June.

The girls stunned the well-dressed crowd in off-white, silver and black with a lot of sequins. All modelled Ruth Tarvydas gowns, Kooey swimwear and Pepe Jeans.

FROM THE WESTERN GIRLS I THINK I LIKE RENAE THE BEST,ESPECIALLY HER GOWN PHOTO IS AMAZING.SHE WAS 1ST RUNNER UP MISS HAWAIAN TROPIC AUSTRALIA, BUT I CANT SAY IM ALL THAT ENTHUSIASTIC WITH HER OTHER APPEARANCES.

This girl is from last year, is she trying to compete this year again? and if i remember she finished in first runner up last year, losing only for Rachael.
